San Mateo County Will Fine People For Not Wearing Masks

Concern Grows As Swine Flu Patient Numbers Increase Across The UK

San Mateo County has a new ordinance effective immediately stating that you will be fined for violating health orders and not wearing a mask. Fines can range from $100 to $500 for individuals and $250 to $3,000 for businesses. You can get more information on the health ordinance here.

Individuals can receive a $100 fine for the first violation, $200 for the second and $500 for additional violations with the same year. Commercial entities risk a minimum fine of $250 and a maximum of $3,000 per violation depending on the gravity of the health risk, prior warnings and any good faith efforts to comply.
