In Yuba City CA last year, officer Ashley Carson found a rabbit. She handed it over to animal control who, try as they might, could not find the owner.
That's when the Yuba City police department announced the rabbit's promotion to the rank of "wellness officer" just before Easter.
"Officer Percy lounges at the police department during the day and is a support animal for all," the department wrote on Facebook.
