The children came upon an empty candy bowl during their trick-or-treating adventure. Home surveillance video captured the moment, and the kids can be heard saying, "There's no candy!" But instead of leaving disappointed, they decided to fill up the empty bowl with their own Halloween candy stash to share with others.
The video, which has been viewed by millions across multiple social media platforms, warmed the hearts of many viewers. The homeowner, Jamie Lim, who captured the touching moment on her surveillance camera, decided to share it with her neighbors on social media. To her surprise, the video racked up tens of millions of views, and she even connected with the kids' family through social media.
Siblings Isabelle and David Lopez were two of the kids in the video and they say being kind to others is something they strongly believe in. Their mother, Rosalia Martinez, has tried to teach them to be grateful and kind, no matter how small their actions, and it seems to be working. "There are kids that are sometimes mean and some kids that are nice,” David says, “I want to be a nice kid.”
