We all know how bad the Bay Area traffic is and this woman has figured out a way to bypass all that. Richmond resident Janis Johnson avoids congested highways by kayaking to work!
According to NBC Bay Area News, "Johnson lives on board a boat in Marina Bay only 2.25 miles away from her job..." So a couple times a week she will get up early and prepare her kayak for departure. The days she doesn't kayak she uses her bike because her work is about 10 minutes away. Although it takes Johnson 3x as long to get to work she told NBC Bay Area News, “There’s something about commuting by water that gives you a really unique perspective on where you are, it’s an exciting way to get to work.”
How long is YOUR commute to work? Would you kayak if you could?
