Online loan company, Lending Tree, released a survey that they did regarding Valentine's Day spending and the results are definitely interesting! The overall conclusion of the survey was that couples will try to outspend their significant other on Valentine's Day. While they found that men will spend on average 2.5x times the amount of women, both have the same expecations on what the other should spend...Lending Tree found that $39 is the average expected amount.
The amount of money spent is usually higher when a couple is dating, even more when engaged and less once married. This survey also metioned that Generation Z are the biggest Valentine's Day spenders, with Millennials right behind.
