If you smoke weed, 420 is your day. San Francisco traditionally has one of the largest 420 celebrations in the country. Traffic gets jacked up in Golden Gate Park by more than 15,000 expected partiers, gummy worms get eaten by the handful, and many clouds of smoke will make it LOOK like it's completely fogged in. Whether you're planning to participate and partake or not, there are certain things you need to know:
- Some items are prohibited including barbecues, glass, tents, tables and amplified sound equipment.
- Because of the potential for weed laced with Fentanyl, they are warning visitors to the park to only purchase cannabis from licensed dispensaries beforehand.
- Several streets in the Upper Haight — in the area outlined by Oak Street to the north, Masonic Avenue to the east, Frederick Street to the south and Stanyan Street/Golden Gate Park to the west — may also be closed to vehicles, depending on the size of crowds.
