This could be really cool, or really annoying, depending on who you ask.
If you ever felt like Instagram is too much of a popularity contest, you are not alone. That's why it was announced yesterday that Instagram is experimenting with a feature that would hide public facing like counts on posts. The feature will first roll out in Canada for testing this week. Individual users would still be able to see their likes, it would just be hidden from everyone else.
The hiding of like counts could go a long way to combat the culture of bullying and the pressures of social media, but many influencers who depend on followers and public facing like counts to make a living are pretty nervous about the new feature.
