This Guy Spent $5K Making A Solid Gold Face Mask

Face masks are the easiest and best way to contain the spread of Covid-19, and it's cool that some people are getting creative and expressive with theirs. Still, I feel like this is just a little bit too far.

Indian businessman Shankar Kurhade spent $5,000 on a custom, solid gold face mask. He heard about a guy who had a custom silver mask made, and he wanted to one up that project, so he went solid gold!

“It is a thin mask and has tiny pores that is helping me to breathe... People are asking me for selfies... They are awe-struck when they see me wearing the gold mask in markets.”

When going out, Kurhade said he likes to adorn himself with gold jewelry weighing over 2 pounds including a bracelet, necklace and rings on each finger of his right hand.
